Show your love for West Virginia with this hand-pulled speckled stoneware mug! Stoneware keeps drinks hot longer than standard ceramic or glass mugs because of its dense clay structure and thick walls. Mugs are approximately 4.15 inches tall and hold at least 15 ounces, so you don't have to make as many trips to the coffee pot!
Background: Each mug was pulled on the wheel, bottom trimmed and hand-pulled handle attached before bisque firing. The blue and yellow gold food safe glazes were applied, omitting the shape of our lovely state prior to firing in the kiln for the second time. From start to finish, each piece takes at least 3 weeks to finish, usually more, depending on weather.
Care: My wish is that people use...no love to use pieces that I have made. The mugs are microwave safe. Take caution, the stoneware can get hot in the microwave. They are also dishwasher safe as long as they are on the top shelf and aren't touching other items.
All handmade items will naturally have a bit of variation. This means that your piece was lovingly created by hand and no one in the world will have something exactly like you do! Machines make identical clones, but human hands leave a personal signature.
