About Mud & Wood
This is my husband's fault. My wonderful partner signed us up for a pottery class as something fun to try back in 2017, and I fell in love with ceramics. I've been making messes and creating things ever since. He even cleared out (a lot) of space in his shop area to make room for me to build a ceramics studio. So, yeah, I am very thankful to have such a supportive Lenny. I am also very thankful to have support from my family and friends as well. Their ideas, suggestions, requests, and (sometimes) free labor, have helped me keep at it and stay inspired. I couldn’t imagine taking on this challenging career without them.
I happily live and work in Hurricane, West Virginia. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and attempting to train my standard poodles (and keep the clay out of their hair).
I love to make nature-inspired functional pieces that serve, not only as a decoration, but as a tool that is used daily. My inspiration comes from various vibes of the people I meet and spending time outdoors with my husband and dogs. I have a passion for figuring out how to make something new and I believe trying out new glazing techniques and combinations is an absolute blast! I tend to make many West Virginia themed pieces because our state is beautiful and I’m proud of where I come from. I also enjoy sharing my pieces with others and really enjoy meeting new potters and appreciating their work.
I would like to express my gratitude to anyone making a purchase, or even just enjoying viewing my art. You are supporting a small business and that is so important!
